Text Box: It is with great pleasure and pride that the members of the Greater Southern Arizona Area Chapter invite all Buffalo Soldiers to Tucson, AZ July 23-27, 2007 to celebrate the 9th & 10th (Horse) Cavalry Association’s 141st Anniversary Reunion.  We want you to have a great time while in Tucson, so we have taken every effort to make sure that you have a comfortable and entertaining stay.

Arizona, one of the Buffalo Soldiers’ frontier homes, had more than 20 different encampments with Fort Huachuca as headquarters.  African-American troopers based in Arizona were involved with conflicts to include the American Indian Wars, the Punitive Expedition, the Spanish-American War, and World War II. Even Henry O Flipper made an impact in Arizona after he left the Army.  The legacy of the Buffalo Soldier has deep roots here in Arizona, and we want you share it with you!

Arizona gets HOT in July, so please remember to bring a hat and pack lightweight clothes and a sweater for the air conditioning.  The climate is also dry, so you will need to drink a lot of water. If you have any special needs please do not hesitate to contact me, Troopers Herman Warrior or Les Morris. We look forward to seeing you in Tucson in July to celebrate the great contributions of Buffalo Soldiers to the “Legacy of a Frontier.”
